March 6, 2009, SALT LAKE CITY—Clyde Companies, parent company of several of the largest heavy construction companies in the Intermountain West, announced today that its learning management system has been selected as the winner of the 2009 Best of Information Technology Solutions contest presented by the Associated General Contractors of America’s. Serfwerks played a key role in receiving the award by designing the interface of the learning management system, identifying the award contest, connecting Clyde Companies with representatives of the AGC of America, and writing and designing significant portions of the award application.
“The LMS was to be, not only a platform for all organization develop, a flagship system for the Learning and Development Department and Clyde Companies. We needed it to look good, as if Steve Jobs had just approved of it,” said Tim Newhard, learning technology manager for Clyde Companies. “We knew we could count on Serfwerks to give us that look as well as the guidance and support that enabled us to win this prestigious award.”
The BITS award is a biennial award presented by the AGC of America to promote the implementation of technology to provide practical business solutions within the construction industries. With a national membership of over 32,000, only six members were selected as finalists to present to a panel of judges at the associations annual convention, which was held in San Diego, Calif. Of the six finalists, Clyde Companies was selected as this year’s contest winner.
